The Super Eagles of Nigeria continue to captivate players across the globe, and Hamzat Ojediran is the latest to declare his ambition to don the famous green and white jersey, Soccernet.football reports.

The 21-year-old RC Lens midfielder, currently enjoying a breakthrough season in Ligue 1, has expressed his desire to represent Nigeria at the senior level, with the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on the horizon.

In a recent interview, Ojediran revealed his unwavering focus on earning a national team call-up.

“It has been worth it, and all I hope is that it gets better in the second half of the season, by the grace of God,” he said.

“No player doesn’t dream of representing his national team, and that’s my goal as well. I know I have to play more to earn it, and that’s my focus for the second half of the season. It will help me realise my dream of playing for Nigeria at the senior level,” he added.

Ojediran’s rise to prominence this season has been nothing short of remarkable. Despite a challenging start at RC Lens, where he was relegated to the B team under coach Will Still, the combative midfielder has worked tirelessly to earn a spot in the first team.

Since November, he has become a regular fixture in the starting lineup, featuring in eight league games and scoring a goal.

With Lens currently pushing for UEFA Champions League qualification, Ojediran’s performances have been crucial. He has contributed one goal this season, a statistic that belies the influence he exerts in midfield.

His form has not gone unnoticed, and the Nigerian starlet is hopeful that his efforts will catch the attention of the incoming Super Eagles coach.

For Ojediran, a call-up would mark the culmination of a lifelong dream. As he continues to impress in Ligue 1, his sights are firmly set on becoming a key figure in Nigeria’s quest for World Cup success.
