Fulham midfielder and Nigerian international Alex Iwobi has brightened the festive season for struggling families in East London by launching a Christmas food donation drive, Soccernet.football reports.

The football star set up a temporary shop, aptly named “Alexpress,” where he distributed free meals, including turkeys, to residents facing financial hardship.

This thoughtful initiative highlights Iwobi’s commitment to supporting his community. By providing vital groceries during a challenging time, he has demonstrated the power of giving back and brought hope to those in need.

Iwobi’s efforts have drawn widespread praise, with BBC Sport Africa capturing his warm interactions as he personally handed out food to locals.

Beyond his charitable work, Iwobi was back in action for Fulham at the weekend, playing the full 90 minutes in a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Southampton at Craven Cottage. The Nigerian international displayed his creativity with one key pass and a scoring chance, though he missed an opportunity to secure victory.

Meanwhile, fellow Super Eagles stars Calvin Bassey and Joe Aribo also featured in the clash.

Bassey excelled defensively for Fulham, registering a remarkable 93% pass accuracy, five recoveries, and one tackle. His assured performance contributed to a valuable clean sheet against the Saints.

Aribo, on the other hand, played 57 minutes before being substituted, but his presence helped Southampton hold their London hosts.

The draw leaves Fulham in ninth place with 25 points, while Southampton remains rooted at the bottom of the Premier League with just six points.
