Arsenal and Liverpool endured a forgettable afternoon in the Premier League as the title favourites were held at home on Saturday, Soccernet.football reports.

Ten-man Liverpool had a late Diogo Jota strike to thank as the Reds played out a thrilling 2-2 draw with visiting Fulham.

Anfield was stunned before some fans were even settled in their seats as Andreas Pereira opened the scoring for Fulham in the 11th minute before Andy Robertson was shown a red card six minutes later.

The league leaders were back on levelled terms shortly after the halftime break through Cody Gakpo but Rodrigo Muniz came off the bench to restore the visitors’ lead midway through the second half.

Liverpool looked to be heading towards their second league defeat of the campaign until substitute Jota bailed them out of trouble with the equaliser in the 86th minute.

Arsenal could not capitalise on Liverpool’s wobble, however, as the Gunners looked tame and lame in their goalless home draw against Everton.

Mikel Arteta’s men dominated the game from start to finish, hoarding 77% of the ball possession and firing eight shots to their opponents’ zero but they could not find a way to beat goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

While Arsenal laboured in vain in attack, there was no such trouble for Newcastle United who dispatched Leicester City 4-0 at St James’ Park.

Jacob Murphy scored twice, his efforts sandwiching those of Bruno Guimarães and Alexander Isak, as Newcastle recorded their sixth win of the campaign.

At the Molineux Stadium, Ipswich Town claimed their second away win of the season following a hard-fought 2-1 win against Wolves.

A Matt Doherty own-goal allowed Ipswich to head into the halftime break with a slim lead, which Wolves cancelled in the 72nd minute through Matheus Cunha.

However, Jack Taylor netted the winning strike for Kieran McKenna’s men deep in stoppage time to catapult the newly promoted side to 18th on the Premier League table.
