Ghana’s Black Galaxies head coach, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, has thrown down the challenge as his side prepares to face Nigeria’s Super Eagles B team in the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers, Soccernet.football reports.
The first leg is set for Sunday, December 22, at the Accra Sports Stadium, with the return fixture slated for December 28 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
Speaking ahead of the encounter, Dramani acknowledged the strength of Nigeria but exuded confidence in Ghana’s chances.

“We are playing against one of the best countries in terms of football in Africa, and Ghana is equally a very quality side when it comes to African football. The chances are very bright, and that is what we are doing,” he said.
The stakes are monumental for both West African giants, as they vie for a spot in the 2025 CHAN tournament to be jointly hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
The clash is a continuation of their fierce rivalry, with Ghana edging Nigeria on penalties two years ago to qualify for the previous edition.
Dramani is focused on ensuring his side is tactically prepared for the high-stakes contest.
“We are physically, technically, and tactically well oriented. We are working on building cohesion and fluidity. When we bring in the effort, energy, and tactical adaptation, we should be able to sail through,” he asserted.
The Black Galaxies recently ramped up their preparations with a victory over Togo in a friendly and have shifted their training base to the Accra Sports Stadium to acclimate to match conditions.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s Super Eagles B team, led by coach Augustine Eguavoen, has been fine-tuning their strategies in Ikenne, Ogun State.
The anticipation for the two-legged affair is palpable as these powerhouses prepare to reignite their rivalry, with a ticket to CHAN 2025 on the line.
