Cristiano Ronaldo has made headlines once again, this time by selecting Kylian Mbappe over his former Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema, Soccerner.football reports.

The decision came during an interview with his former Manchester United colleague, Rio Ferdinand, where Ronaldo was asked to choose between two of France’s top footballers.

The Al Nassr forward, regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time, shared his thoughts on various topics, including his career and future ambitions.

However, it was his quick response to the question regarding Benzema and Mbappe that sparked a significant reaction from fans.

Many assumed Ronaldo would pick Benzema, with whom he formed a lethal partnership during his time at Real Madrid.

Together, they dominated European football, winning multiple UEFA Champions League titles. Their chemistry on the pitch was undeniable, with Benzema often playing a crucial support role to Ronaldo during their trophy-laden years in Spain.

However, when asked to choose between the two French stars, Ronaldo gave a swift response: “Mbappe.”

This statement surprised many, considering his long-standing relationship with Benzema. Still, it underscores Ronaldo’s admiration for Mbappe’s talent and impact on the game.

At 39, Ronaldo continues to be a central figure in football, and his opinion carries immense weight in the sport.
