Juventus head coach Thiago Motta has confirmed the club’s decision to sell exciting Italian winger Federico Chiesa, Soccernet.football reports.

Motta left the Italy international out of the squad for Saturday’s preseason friendly match against Brest which ended in a 2-2 draw at the Stadio Adriatico in Pescara.

Along with Chiesa, Juventus have also listed Tiago Djalo and Hans Nicolussi Caviglia for sale as part of Motta’s efforts to overhaul the squad.

The former Bologna manager excluded all three players from the team on Saturday night, indicating that the Turin giants no longer see them as part of their plans.

In a post-match interview, Motta clarified any doubts by announcing the decision to sell Chiesa, with Juventus looking to Fiorentina’s Nicolas Gonzalez to replace the 26-year-old on the flank.

“Chiesa is out for transfer reasons, the same as the others who were left behind, other than Fabio Miretti, who is injured,” the Juventus boss said to Sky Sports Italia.

“We have been very clear with them. They are talented but must find other options where they will get more playing time. For Chiesa and the others, the decision has been made.“

With Chiesa set to depart, the Bianconeri may renew their interest in Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi after initially being deterred by their inability to meet the demands of the Bundesliga side.

Chiesa’s sale could provide them with sufficient funds to restart negotiations for the 22-year-old who has already agreed to join the Italian giants on a multi-year contract.
