Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly considering a move for Chelsea’s teenage right-back, Josh Acheampong, with a potential transfer fee of around €15 million, Soccernet.football reports.

Both European giants have expressed interest in the highly-rated 18-year-old, who has come through Chelsea’s youth academy and is seen as a promising talent.

Real Madrid’s interest in Acheampong is particularly noteworthy, given that manager Carlo Ancelotti had earlier stated that the club’s transfer business was closed for the summer.

However, the Spanish champions remain vigilant in the market for opportunities to enhance their squad. Acheampong, who is on the brink of breaking into Chelsea’s first team, has caught their attention.

PSG are also keen on acquiring Acheampong, seeing the young Englishman as a potential asset for the future. The French champions, like Real Madrid, are always on the lookout for emerging talent, and Acheampong’s situation at Chelsea has put them on alert, according to the Independent.

Chelsea, on the other hand, may need to offload players to comply with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules. With the club’s squad already inflated, Acheampong could become a candidate for sale, despite his promising future.

Acheampong’s contract with Chelsea runs until 2026, but a sale could be considered beneficial from a financial standpoint.

Real Madrid, in particular, might see him as a potential long-term successor to Dani Carvajal, especially with uncertainties surrounding the future of Lucas Vazquez. While Trent Alexander-Arnold remains a priority target for the Spanish giants, Acheampong could emerge as a viable alternative.
