Barcelona’s emphatic 7-0 victory over Real Valladolid on Saturday night saw two of their stars, Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal, etch their names into the club’s history books, Soccernet.football reports.

Robert Lewandowski’s first-half strike, assisted by the impressive Yamal, not only helped Barcelona secure a commanding win but also saw the Polish international equal a significant record.

Lewandowski’s goal, his fourth of the season, means he is the first Barcelona player since Lionel Messi in the 2018/19 campaign to score in the club’s first four La Liga matches, as noted by Opta.

Meanwhile, the match also marked a special moment for Lamine Yamal, as the young Spanish international broke a long-standing La Liga record.

According to Opta, Yamal, who provided a crucial assist during the game, has now been involved in 14 goals in just 42 appearances before turning 18, surpassing the record previously held by Bojan Krkić.

“Lamine Yamal has been involved in 14 goals in 42 appearances in La Liga, the most by a player before turning 18 in the competition in the 21st century, surpassing Bojan Krkić,” Opta tweeted.
