Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has praised Arsenal star Bukayo Saka, calling him a “game-changer” with rare abilities, Soccernet.football reports.

Under Mikel Arteta’s leadership, Arsenal have experienced significant growth, finishing just two points behind Premier League champions Manchester City. This season saw standout performances from players like Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, and William Saliba.

Rooney highlighted Saka’s unique skills in an interview with the Premier League’s official YouTube channel, noting his exceptional ball-carrying and movement. According to Rooney, Saka’s ability to change games makes him a valuable asset for both Arsenal and England.

Saka, coming off his best season yet, is now set to potentially lead England to success in the Euros this summer. He will compete with Chelsea’s Cole Palmer and Manchester City’s Phil Foden for a starting spot. However, Rooney believes Saka deserves a guaranteed place due to his on and off-the-ball skills.

Rooney said of Saka’s development: “It’s very rare you get wide players running off the ball and running in behind, and I think his movement is fantastic.

“You imagine his position on the right for England is almost cemented in. He is a game-changer who can win games for you. He has been fantastic, especially the last couple of years.”

Saka has transformed into an exceptional attacker under Arteta, scoring 20 goals and providing 14 assists this season. His progress indicates he is on track to become one of the best in his position.

Despite facing tough defences, Saka continues to excel, often requiring multiple players to mark him. Yet, he remains a threat and is still developing his potential.
