Rodrygo has taken to social media to clarify exit claims and reiterate his commitment to the Spanish champions amid backlash from fans, Soccernet.football reports.

The Real Madrid forward raised speculations over his future with Los Blancos after he failed to rule out a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu in a recent interview which emerged just days before the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund.

In an interview with DAZN leading up to the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund on June 1, Rodrygo emphasized his desire to stay with Real Madrid but avoided ruling out a departure.

Asked whether he fancied himself a Real Madrid player forever, the 23-year-old Brazilian replied; “Yes. Well… anything can happen. I have a contract here, but I don’t know.

“The years I’ve been here have been a pleasure for me. I’ve always said I want to be at this club, but let’s see.”

Following backlash from numerous supporters online regarding the timing of his comments, Rodrygo has come out on social media to reiterate his commitment to Real Madrid, insisting that his recent comments about leaving had been taken “out of context”

“A very annoying situation occurred where one of my interviews was taken completely out of context,” the Brazilian wrote. “To be very direct, I am very happy at Real Madrid.

“I live a dream every day and leaving the club of my life does not cross my mind. Now, we continue with history to make for the 15th [Champions League title].

“Hala Madrid and nothing more.”

Rodrygo’s agent Nick Arcuri also weighed in on the situation, adding; “Rodrygo is happy. Rodrygo dreamed and fought like crazy to get his space. Rodrygo only thinks about becoming a champion on Saturday.

“Please don’t take things out of context, especially at this moment. Whoever knows him knows that he is a real Madridista.”

As per The Athletic, Real Madrid remain calm about Rodrygo’s future, convinced that he genuinely does not want to leave the club. However, it is believed that while he remains fully committed to Los Blancos, he would reconsider his future if he finds himself out of the team.
