Genk striker Tolu Arokodare has praised Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle’s confident approach as Nigeria prepare for their crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification match against Rwanda, Footynaija.com reports.
Arokodare, one of four first-timers in the Super Eagles squad, earned a place in Chelle’s plans after impressing for Genk in the Belgian Pro League. With 19 goals and 5 assists across 35 appearances in all competitions, the striker has been firing on all cylinders this term.
Having joined up with the rest of the squad at the training camp in Kigali, Arokodare previously expressed his excitement at finally earning the chance to represent his homeland.

After participating in some training sessions under the tutelage of Chelle, the 24-year-old has hailed the impact of the new Super Eagles boss on the squad, revealing that the Franco-Malian boss has instilled belief in the squad.
“The coach is coming with a lot of confidence and has shown us how much he’s confident in us and that’s a huge boost for us,” Arokodare told popular Nigerian journalist Pooja.
“Very confident he is a coach with a plan and a coach who knows what he wants and how he wants to play. When you’re playing under a coach like that, you know what you have to do. It is pretty simple and basic.”
Arokodare will be eyeing a first appearance for Nigeria when the Super Eagles square up against Rwanda at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali tomorrow.
The Super Eagles must grind out a victory against the Amavubi if they are to keep their hopes of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup alive.
