Chelsea are reportedly ready to table a €70 million bid for Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface as they look to strengthen their attack this summer, Footynaija.com reports.

The 24-year-old Nigerian forward played a crucial role in Leverkusen’s historic Bundesliga and DFB Pokal triumphs last season, scoring 21 goals and registering 10 assists. Despite a quieter campaign this term, with 10 goals across all competitions, Boniface remains a vital part of Xabi Alonso’s squad.

Chelsea’s struggles in front of goal have been evident, with the team relying heavily on Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson. While Jackson has shown improvement, his recent injury has forced Christopher Nkunku to operate as a makeshift striker, further exposing the club’s lack of attacking depth.

Boniface’s strength, speed, and finishing ability make him an ideal candidate for the Premier League. With Chelsea aiming to rebuild under Mauricio Pochettino, his arrival could provide the firepower they desperately need.

The Stamford Bridge giants almost signed Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen but Boniface could be a viable option should a move for the Napoli-owned star fail again this summer.

Fichajes reports that Boniface is a key name on Chelsea’s transfer wishlist this summer.

Leverkusen, who signed the Nigerian for just €23 million two years ago, now face a key decision. Although Boniface turned down a move to Al Nassr in January, the prospect of playing in the Premier League could be far more enticing.

With Chelsea’s interest intensifying, the coming weeks will determine whether Boniface makes the move to Stamford Bridge in what could be one of the summer’s biggest deals.
