Victor Osimhen delivered yet another standout performance for Galatasaray, scoring his 15th goal of the season in a dramatic 3-3 Europa League draw against Dynamo Kyiv, Soccernet.football reports.

However, the Super Eagles star expressed a mix of disappointment and determination after the game, urging his team to address their shortcomings.

“We are disappointed. We thought we deserved more,” Osimhen told the match broadcaster, according to Galatasaray’s official website.

“We need to take responsibility as a team. I think we all made mistakes. They also fought well and scored goals. There were two consecutive draws. Now we need to work and learn from our mistakes. We need to focus on the upcoming matches.”

Osimhen’s contribution was pivotal, as he coolly converted a penalty in the 53rd minute to extend Galatasaray’s lead to 3-1.

The strike, confirmed after a VAR review for handball, showed Osimhen’s composure under pressure, as he sent Dynamo Kyiv goalkeeper Ruslan Neshcheret the wrong way. It was his 21st goal contribution of the season, having registered 15 goals and six assists.

Despite Galatasaray’s attacking firepower, Dynamo Kyiv staged a late comeback, capped by Andriy Yarmolenko’s equaliser. The result left Galatasaray ruing missed opportunities to secure victory.

Osimhen emphasised the need for better cohesion and decision-making within the team.

“We need to understand each other better at certain moments,” he explained. “If I’m going strong, I look at who I can pass to and who I can receive the pass from. We could have scored more goals today. We need to learn from our mistakes and be better.”

Osimhen’s impact went beyond his goal. His aerial dominance and sharp movement caused constant problems for Kyiv’s defence. A standout moment came in the 63rd minute when his towering header forced a stunning save from Neshcheret.

Despite Osimhen’s efforts, Galatasaray’s back-to-back draws have exposed areas for improvement, particularly in maintaining defensive solidity.

Galatasaray remain well-positioned in the Europa League group, with the Turkish champions sitting fifth with 13 points.

They will face Ajax in their final group match on January 30th.
