France international forward Olivier Giroud has announced that he will bid farewell to AC Milan and his move to Major League Soccer (MLS) this summer, Soccernet.football reports

In a video posted on Milan’s Youtube Channel, the former Arsenal and Chelsea striker confirms his departure from the Rossoneri after nearly four years.

Giroud confirms his final two matches for Milan this season will mark his farewell.

“I’m here to tell you the next two games will be my last for Milan,” Giroud said on Monday.

“I’m going to continue my career, but in the MLS. I’m very, very proud of everything I’ve done for Milan in these three years. It’s the right time to say it. Sorry, I’m a bit emotional, but my story with Milan ends this year but Milan will remain in my heart forever.”

Giroud played for a few lower league clubs including Grenoble before making his breakthrough at Montpellier.

He led the French club to the Ligue 1 title in 2012 and joined Arsenal that summer.

Giroud won three FA Cups with the Gunners and added the UEFA Champions League and Europa League at Chelsea.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner is France’s all-time highest goalscorer.

Giroud, 38, joins the MLS with LAFC as a potential destination, though specifics remain undisclosed.

The 2024 European Chanpionships will also be Giroud’s last tournament with France before he announces his international retirement.
