Ajax technical director Jordi Cruijff has revealed that the Dutch giants have already reached an agreement on the contractual terms and salary involved in signing Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare permanently, Footynaija.com reports.
The Nigerian forward joined Ajax on a season-long loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers in July and has quickly established himself as an important figure in the club’s attack.
Arokodare has made an impressive start to life in Amsterdam, recording 10 goals and three assists in 15 appearances across all competitions.
His recent performances have further strengthened his position, with the 25-year-old scoring the decisive goal in Ajax’s 1-0 victory over AZ Alkmaar last weekend.
The result ended Ajax’s long winless run against their Dutch rivals and lifted them to second place in the Eredivisie standings.
Speaking about the Nigerian’s adaptation to life at the club, Cruijff praised his mentality and contribution to the team while avoiding comparisons with other players.

“I don’t really want to go into individual names, but he is doing well,” Cruijff said, per quotes on Ajax Showtime.
“When we signed him, there was a lot of talk about us getting him from a relegated team. He has settled in well, has a good mentality, and is a team player. We hope he just keeps going.”
When asked whether securing Arokodare’s signature permanently would be complicated by the transfer fee involved, Cruijff was confident the process would be straightforward.
“I don’t think so. We have a purchase option in his contract,” he explained, adding that the salary and other terms had already been arranged.
Ajax reportedly have a €20 million option to sign the striker permanently from Wolves, meaning the club would not need to renegotiate his personal terms if they decide to activate the clause.
However, the financial commitment could still depend on Ajax’s budget and their ambitions for next season, particularly their push to secure Champions League football.
With Arokodare continuing to deliver in front of goal, his performances could make the decision to retain the Nigerian forward increasingly difficult for Ajax to ignore.
