Super Eagles midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru is reportedly closing in on a competitive return for Lazio after recovering from the thigh injury that has kept him sidelined for the past three weeks, Footynaija.com reports.
The Nigeria international picked up the injury during Lazio’s Serie A opener against Bologna on August 24, forcing him to miss the club’s subsequent fixtures against Genoa, Udinese and AC Milan.
However, Dele-Bashiru has now received a boost in his bid to return to action, with latest reports in the Italian media space suggesting that he could be fit enough to make the squad for Lazio’s upcoming trip to Venezia.

According to The Lizali.com, the 26-year-old Super Eagles midfielder is expected to be available for selection ahead of Saturday’s encounter at the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo.
While manager Gennaro Gattuso is unlikely to take unnecessary risks with the Nigerian’s fitness, his potential return would provide a welcome boost to Lazio’s midfield options before the international break.
Dele-Bashiru’s recovery also comes at an important time for the Super Eagles, with Nigeria preparing for their upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The Nigeria national team will host Madagascar on September 25 before travelling to face Guinea-Bissau away on September 29.

His availability could therefore hand head coach Éric Chelle a timely boost as the Super Eagles prepare for those two crucial qualifying fixtures.
Dele-Bashiru will be hoping to return to full fitness and feature for Lazio before turning his attention to international duty, provided he earns a place in the squad.
The midfielder’s progress will be closely monitored in the coming days as Lazio prepare for their final fixture before the international break.
