Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze has been handed a surprise boost to his AC Milan future after new head coach Ruben Amorim revealed the Nigerian remains part of his plans ahead of the new season, Footynaija.com reports.
Chukwueze had looked set to leave the Rossoneri following the end of his loan spell at Fulham, with several reports linking him with a permanent exit after the Premier League club decided against signing him outright.
However, Amorim has now changed the conversation.

Speaking during his first press conference as AC Milan manager, the Portuguese coach made it clear that Chukwueze will be given the chance to prove himself during pre-season.
“Chukwueze will stay with us. We need players who know how to play one-on-one and he is capable of that,” Amorim said.
He added that he wants to assess the players already at the club before looking to strengthen the squad, insisting those who show the right qualities will earn their place in his team.
According to Pianeta Milan, Amorim believes Chukwueze’s ability to beat defenders could make him an important option in his preferred 3-4-2-1 system. Rather than operating as an out-and-out winger, the Super Eagles star could feature in one of the two attacking roles behind the striker, where his pace, dribbling and direct running can have greater impact.

The development comes as a major turnaround for the 26-year-old, whose future at San Siro had appeared uncertain after Fulham opted not to make his move permanent despite a season that produced three Premier League goals and four assists.
Amorim’s public backing also suggests the former Villarreal winger will start the new campaign with a clean slate as AC Milan begin a new era under the Portuguese tactician.
For Chukwueze, it is an opportunity to revive his career at one of Italy’s biggest clubs after months of speculation over his future.
