Femi Azeez has put the Premier League in his sights after the 24-year-old winger enjoyed the summer of his career coupled with a standout Unity Cup campaign with the Super Eagles, Footynaija.com reports.
Azeez finished the Championship season with 11 goals and 18 goal involvements in 37 appearances for Millwall, establishing himself as one of the most dangerous wide players in the second tier.
The Lions finished third in the table but fell short of promotion after losing to Hull City in the playoff semifinals, leaving Azeez to channel his frustration into a Unity Cup campaign that announced him to a global audience.
He had three goals contributions across the tournament, including a brace on his debut against Zimbabwe, and was central to Nigeria’s 3-0 final win over Jamaica.
The week gave him a taste of a bigger stage, and he wants more of it.
‘The Premier League is the pinnacle’
Speaking to Sky Sports after the Unity Cup triumph, Azeez was candid about his ambitions.
“I had a good season in the Championship and obviously, to do it on the international stage as well was just that next step up,” he said.

He made clear that satisfaction is not something he allows himself to sit with for long.
“Whenever I achieve something, I’m always hungry for more. I’m never satisfied with what I’ve got. I’m always going to work towards that next level because I’m ambitious as a footballer and as a person, and I want to reach as high of a level as possible.”
On the Premier League, he was direct.
“The Premier League is obviously the pinnacle of football. I’d love to play in the Premier League. So obviously, working hard, I’m going to do whatever I can to get there.”
He also reflected on Millwall’s campaign with genuine pride, despite the playoff heartbreak.
“I’ve had a good season. Put in some good numbers and good performances. But as a team, we’ve done incredibly well to finish third in such a tough competition. It’s a credit to everyone, the manager, the boys in the team, the guys behind the scenes.”
On Hull ending their promotion dream, he kept it simple.
“In football, anything can happen. Hull were better on the days. Nevertheless, we’re all proud of what we’ve achieved, and we’re all hungry for more.”
Azeez joined Millwall permanently from Reading in August 2024 and his contract runs until 2027, giving the Lions strong leverage over his future.
Whether a Premier League club comes in this summer will depend on how the market moves, but after the season and the Unity Cup week he has just had, the queue is unlikely to be short.
