Victor Osimhen’s impact at Galatasaray has become impossible to ignore, with even figures connected to fierce rivals Fenerbahce openly acknowledging the Nigerian’s quality, Footynaija reports.
Mahmut Uslu, who is part of the proposed board backing Fenerbahce presidential candidate Aziz Yildirim, admitted that Osimhen is the one Galatasaray player he would most like to see in yellow and navy blue. However, he also conceded that such a move is highly unlikely.
The Super Eagles forward enjoyed another remarkable season in Istanbul, helping Galatasaray secure the Turkish Super Lig title while continuing to establish himself as one of the league’s standout performers. His return to the club on a permanent basis last summer, following the activation of his €75 million release clause, made him the most expensive signing in Turkish football history.
Uslu believes Fenerbahce’s priority should not be dreaming of signing Osimhen but building a squad capable of competing against a team that possesses him.
“We will build a squad that can stop a team with Osimhen. If we make Kadıköy unbeatable, we will be champions,” Uslu told HT Spor.
Asked which Galatasaray player he would take to Fenerbahce, Uslu did not hesitate before naming the Nigerian striker.
“Who wouldn’t want a player like Osimhen? But he won’t come to us. His destinations are clear.”
The comments come amid continued speculation surrounding the 27-year-old’s future. Despite being contracted to Galatasaray until June 2029, Osimhen has recently been linked with major European clubs including Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal.
Since arriving in Turkey, the former Napoli star has delivered exceptional numbers, scoring 59 goals and providing 16 assists in 74 appearances for the Turkish champions.
