Fulham manager Marco Silva was frustrated by the lack of impact from his substitutes after watching the Cottagers settle for a 1-1 draw against already condemned Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday, Footynaija.com reports.

Silva’s men found themselves trailing after Wolves youngster Mateus Mane rifled a powerful effort past Bernd Leno in the 25th minute. However, the 18-year-old soon went from hero to villain after conceding a penalty following a reckless challenge in the box.

Referee Thomas Kirk awarded the spot kick after a pitchside review before Antonee Robinson stepped up to calmly convert in first half stoppage time, sending both teams into the dressing room level at the interval.

Looking to seize control in the second half, Marco Silva turned to his bench and called upon the likes of Kevin, Raul Jimenez, Joshua King, Harry Wilson and Samuel Chukwueze. Despite this, the Cottagers continued to struggle as Wolves looked the more likely to snatch a winner.

“Probably one of the worst second halves from us this season,” Silva was quoted as saying by Fulham’s official website. “For me, it is difficult to find a reason for that. We tried everything from the bench.

“Apart from Kevin at halftime, we finished the game with Chukwueze, Harry Wilson, Raul, Josh King as well but the reality is the impact was not there at all. Zero impact from the changes and it can happen in some moments of the game.”

With that result, Fulham’s dream of qualifying for Europe is all but over. Heading into the final gameweek, the Cottagers sit in 12th place with three points separating them from 8th place Brentford, who happen to have a superior goal difference.
