Wilfred Ndidi: Besiktas issue worrisome update on Super Eagles skipper

Besiktas have reportedly made a decision on the possible exit of Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi amid speculations linking him with a summer return to England, Footynaija.com understands.

Ndidi only joined Besiktas from Leicester City last summer after bringing an end to his lengthy stay in England. The Nigerian midfielder spent close to nine years with Leicester, establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s most dependable defensive midfielders during his peak years at the King Power Stadium.

Since arriving in Turkey, Ndidi has remained an important figure for Besiktas. The 29-year-old has delivered a number of commanding performances in midfield, using his experience, ball-winning ability and composure to strengthen the Black Eagles throughout the campaign.

However, despite his impact at the club, Besiktas are now reportedly open to sanctioning his departure if the right offer arrives this summer.

According to reports from Turkey, the Istanbul giants are prepared to listen to offers in excess of €10 million as they look to make a profit on a player they signed for around €8 million last year.

Interestingly, this is not the first time Ndidi has been linked with a move to Manchester United. The former Genk midfielder was repeatedly mentioned as a target for the Red Devils during his Leicester days, while similar rumours resurfaced again during the winter transfer window.

Although a move to Old Trafford appears unlikely at this stage, a return to the Premier League could still materialise, with Crystal Palace, Everton and Fulham all believed to be monitoring his situation ahead of the summer window.
