Super Eagles midfielder Frank Onyeka has drawn high praise from his Coventry City teammate Jack Rudoni ahead of a crucial EFL Championship clash against Blackburn Rovers, Footynaija.com reports.
Coventry’s signing of Onyeka on loan from Brentford in the January transfer window has proven to be a masterstroke, with Frank Lampard’s men now on the verge of securing promotion back to the Premier League.
In eleven EFL Championship outings, the Nigeria international has helped Coventry secure eight wins and two draws, with just the odd defeat to fellow Premier League promotion chasers Southampton.

Speaking about Onyeka’s impact at a press conference before facing Blackburn, Rudoni said; “Tank’s [Onyeka], is like my new best mate. I love him, we have so much quality on the pitch.
“I’ve been in there with Tank and Grimesy in midfield, we have a good relationship. I can always stand in the pocket, and wait for Frank to demolish someone and give me the ball.
“It makes my life easy playing with him. He’s such a physical presence and he’s so good at winning the ball back and upping the tempo in a press, winning the ball as quick as possible.
“He’s a top player, played several Premier League games, and that experience shows. Off the pitch, he’s a chill guy as well.”

Coventry can officially secure their promotion to the English top flight with a victory over Blackburn Rovers later today. Both Onyeka and Rudoni are expected to play a central role at Ewood Park as the Sky Blues set their sights on ending a 25-year absence from the Premier League.
