Former Trabzonspor manager Sadi Tekelioğlu has offered a clear and striking verdict in the growing debate between Nigerian forwards Victor Osimhen and Paul Onuachu, Footynaija reports.
The veteran coach, 71, insists the Galatasaray striker poses the greater overall threat despite trailing his compatriot in goals this season.
On paper, Onuachu has been the more prolific forward in the Turkish Süper Lig campaign. The Trabzonspor striker has scored 21 league goals, leading the scoring charts and proving deadly inside the penalty box. His strength, aerial presence and finishing have made him a classic target man, and his goals have powered Trabzonspor’s push towards the top three.
Osimhen, by contrast, has scored 12 league goals, but his influence stretches far beyond numbers. Leading the line for Galatasaray, he has contributed with assists, movement and relentless pressing, while also delivering in European competition. His pace and ability to stretch defences have made him central to Galatasaray’s title charge.

Tekelioğlu believes that difference is decisive. Speaking before the meeting between the two sides, he said: “Osimhen’s absence is a big advantage for Trabzonspor, but I can’t say the same for Galatasaray regarding Onuachu’s absence; they will fill that gap.”
He went further in his comparison, adding: “I don’t think Onuachu will affect Trabzonspor as much as Osimhen affected Galatasaray. Galatasaray is much more important for Osimhen. There is no more dangerous player than Osimhen in Türkiye.”
Galatasaray sit top of the Super Lig table, four points ahead of second-place Fenerbahçe while Trabzonspor sit further behind in third.
