Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey believes that Fulham has what it takes to qualify for European football this season after near misses in the last couple of campaigns, Footynaija.com reports.
Fulham have been quite impressive under the tutelage of Marco Silva in recent years. Last season, the Cottagers looked on course to qualify for the UEFA Europa Conference League but a late season slump that saw them lose six of their final ten games ruled them out of contention.
This season, they’re in the mix once again, with only four points separating Bassey’s Fulham from seventh place, which will most likely guarantee qualification for the Conference League and the Nigeria international knows that every single point is vital at this stage of the campaign.
What Calvin Bassey said

“If you look at the last two or three seasons, we’ve been in and around it, and then the last four or five games it’s sort of got away from us, [but] we’re right there now,” Bassey told BeinSports.
“We’ve got eight games left, and I feel like we can really push and achieve it. We’re four points behind seventh, so it’s all very close, that’s why each game and point matters.
“We feel like we’re so close to our goal. The atmosphere in the changing room is excitement, because we know we’ve got a chance to do something amazing, achieve something great, so we’re just taking each game as it is.”

Fulham will have an opportunity to go one step closer to their goal when relegation strugglers Burnley pay a visit to Craven Cottage this weekend. Bassey got on the score sheet when both sides met earlier in the season with the Cottagers going on to claim a thrilling 3-2 win at Turf Moor.
The Super Eagles defender will be looking to have a similar level of impact on Saturday as Marco Silva’s side aim to do a Premier League double over the Clarets.

I love how clearly you explained everything. Thanks for this.
