Manchester United have been named the world’s most valuable football club, boasting a jaw-dropping valuation of $6.2 billion (£4.96 billion), Soccernet.football reports.

Despite not winning the biggest club competitions in recent seasons, United remain the wealthiest club on the planet, according to the meticulously crafted rankings by Sportico.

The English giants are followed by Real Madrid ($6.06 billion), Barcelona ($5.28 billion), Liverpool ($5.11 billion), and Bayern Munich ($4.8 billion) in the top five.

The Premier League is well represented, with Manchester City, Arsenal, Tottenham, and Chelsea all in the top ten in that order, sandwiching seventh-placed Paris Saint Germain.

In all, nine English clubs made the top 50 list, with a staggering cumulative valuation of $29 billion.

However, La Liga, while trailing behind the Premier League, still commands attention with a cumulative total valuation of $13 billion.

Despite only three clubs (Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid) gracing the list, their impact cannot be understated.

As for Serie A, while six clubs make the cut, the absence of a top 10 contender leaves a bitter taste.

Juventus ($1.77 billion), Milan ($1.2 billion), and Inter ($1.06 billion) lead the charge for Italian clubs, but the lack of a top-tier presence is palpable.

Yet, the German Bundesliga emerges as a formidable force, with its four represented clubs boasting a collective valuation of $7.6 billion, eclipsing Serie A’s total worth.

Meanwhile, Ligue 1 stakes its claim with a respectable $4.8 billion valuation, securing its place among the European league elites.

But that’s not all; the Major League Soccer (MLS) has made its mark with an impressive presence, boasting 20 teams within the coveted list.

Not to be outdone, the MLS flexes its muscles with Los Angeles FC ($1.15 billion) leading the charge as the highest-ranked MLS club, securing a respectable 15th position.

But the MLS domination doesn’t stop there, with Atlanta United, Inter Miami, LA Galaxy, and New York City FC all carving out spots within the top 20.

And not forgetting the international flavour added to the mix, with Liga MX, Eredivisie, Primeira Liga, and Brazilian Serie A all making notable appearances within the top 50 ranks.

America, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Ajax, Benfica, and Flamengo proudly fly their flags in this illustrious company.
