Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has received a glowing endorsement from former England international Troy Deeney, who insists only one or two strikers in world football can claim superiority over the Nigerian in every department, Footynaija.com reports.
It is, after all, what Osimhen does. Two weeks ago in Istanbul, he delivered two assists as Galatasaray dismantled Juventus 5-2 in the first leg at the RAMS Park, setting the tie up.
Then, when Juventus had clawed the aggregate back to 5-5 in Turin, he collected a Baris Alper Yilmaz pass in the 105th minute and drilled the finish through Perin’s legs at the near post.

Deeney, who scored 47 goals in the Premier League across more than 400 appearances for Watford did not hold back in his appraisal of the 27-year-old.
“If you talk about him just as a footballer, he’s top five strikers in world football,” Deeney said on CBS Sports Golazo.
“Every league would want him. He’s physical, he’s strong. He’s not a Harry Kane type, but when you watch him in goal, technically he’s very, very good. He’ll bash you about, he can link the play, he can run in behind, scores goals — which is the most important.”
Troy Deeney Weighs In on Osimhen’s Financial Standoff
Deeney also addressed what has kept Osimhen at Galatasaray despite interest from Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and others. In his view, the situation is straightforward.
“A lot of why he hasn’t moved on has been financial. A value that he places on himself that clubs aren’t ready to meet,” he said.
Despite that, Deeney believes Osimhen’s standing in the game remains unaffected.
“His stock is always going to be high. If you talk about him just as a footballer, I think you’d find probably one or two in world football that are better than him in every department,” the former Watford captain concluded.
Osimhen has now scored 53 goals and provided 10 assists in 64 appearances for Galatasaray. He has scored seven in the Champions League this season alone.
