Although Barcelona still boast attacking creativity through youngsters such as Lamine Yamal and winger Raphinha, the club recognise the need for a clinical goalscorer capable of leading the line in the post-Lewandowski era. Former Barcelona forward Thierry Henry recently highlighted Osimhen, alongside Erling Haaland and Harry Kane, as strikers suited to that role.
However, the financial gap remains significant. Galatasaray are understood to value Osimhen close to €100 million, while the striker’s reported annual salary, estimated around €15 million plus bonuses, sits outside Barcelona’s current wage structure.
Those figures have encouraged the Spanish champions to explore more affordable solutions rather than commit to another major financial risk.

Among the emerging options is Mexican forward Armando Gonzalez, who has enjoyed a standout campaign with Chivas Guadalajara. The 22-year-old’s rapid development, strong scoring record and relatively modest valuation have reportedly attracted Barcelona’s interest, with discussions already initiated with his representatives.
Other younger or lower-cost names, including Karl Etta-Eyong, Fisnik Asllani and Dušan Vlahović, are also being assessed as the club balances sporting ambition with economic reality.
Barcelona’s striker search is therefore entering a decisive phase. While Osimhen remains one of Europe’s most admired forwards, his price may ultimately steer the club toward a younger and more financially sustainable signing.
