Juventus head coach Luciano Spalletti has placed Victor Osimhen at the heart of his tactical thinking ahead of Tuesday night’s UEFA Champions League playoff against Galatasaray, footynaija.com reports.
The Italian side travel to Istanbul knowing they must deal with one of the most explosive attacks in European football. Osimhen has been in outstanding form throughout the competition, finding the net six times in six matches and driving Galatasaray’s push into the knockout stages.
For Spalletti, the challenge is also personal. He worked closely with the Nigerian striker during their hugely successful spell at Napoli, where Osimhen grew into a world-class forward. Now, the Juventus boss must find a way to limit the very player he once helped develop.
Yet the threat does not stop there. Osimhen’s partnership with Mauro Icardi has become one of the most feared in Turkey, combining pace, movement and ruthless finishing.
“Okan Buruk will be the one to decide whether Osimhen and Icardi play together,” Juventus coach Luciano Spalletti said ahead of the Galatasaray match as BeinSports.
“Both are extremely strong players. Their characteristics are quite different. They know exactly how to behave in the penalty area as strikers. One creates chaos, and the other knows how to capitalize on that chaos well.
“We will try to keep them away from the ball as much as possible. We must be prepared for all of Galatasaray’s choices. We have to play our own game. We can’t step onto the field with fear. Okan Buruk has a very strong personality. His and his players’ quality is extremely important, but we came here to play this match. We’re happy to face an opponent of this level.”

Osimhen’s Champions League form has mirrored Icardi’s domestic brilliance, with the Argentine already scoring 13 league goals this season. Both were on display again at the weekend as Galatasaray thrashed Eyüpspor 5–1.
