Turkish football analyst Omer Urundul has claimed that Lucas Torreira has a stronger influence on Galatasaray this season than Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen, Footynaija.com reports.
Torreira has been one of the most consistent starters in the squad, while Osimhen continues to carry global attention after his record transfer and historic scoring run in the 2024 season.
Urundul, the veteran broadcaster, explained that Torreira’s influence stretches beyond the present moment because he has been part of the team’s earlier title wins.

He suggested that the presence of the former Arsenal man in midfield gives the group a level of calm that shows whenever the team are under pressure.
As revealed in a report by GsGazette, the analyst said, “Galatasaray’s team is much bigger than our league. As they get used to winning, they create a fantastic atmosphere at home.”
“I really like Torreira. In my opinion, he has an even greater impact on the team than Osimhen. Because Torreira was also present in Galatasaray’s first two championships. He makes a huge contribution.”

The Uruguayan’s numbers this season support the idea that he remains a steady part of the starting side. The midfielder has featured in nine league matches in the 2025-2026 season, registering one goal and two assists.
Osimhen, on the other hand, has three goals in seven league appearances this season. That is in addition to his three Champions League goals, including the winner against Liverpool and a brace against Bodo/Glimt.
His thirty seven goals across all competitions in the 2024/2025 season remain one of the strongest scoring seasons by a foreign player in Turkish football.
In another development, Spanish links have also followed these performances with recent reports indicating that Barcelona are monitoring him as they plan their long term forward line.
