Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers recently admitted that Kelechi Iheanacho’s summer move to Celtic Park means the Super Eagles forward is currently not operating at his best level, Footynaija.com reports.
Iheanacho struggled badly for form last season after leaving Leicester City for Sevilla and his struggles continued even after leaving the Spanish La Liga club to join EFL Championship side Middlesbrough half-way into the season.
The Nigerian forward eventually ended his association with Sevilla this summer to reunite with his former Leicester coach Rodgers at Celtic in the Scottish Premiership.

Despite the striker’s impressive start to life at Celtic, Rodgers believes he is still far from his optimum levels due to the massive dip in form he’s endured in the past few months.
“I know what he needs to work on and obviously that goal last week will do him the world of good,” Rodgers told BBC Radio Scotland, as revealed by 67 HAIL.
“But the reality is, if he was still at the level of which he can play at, he wouldn’t be at Celtic. That’s the reality. But he’s just had that dip for the last 18 months, couple of years. But he’s still young. So can we reinvigorate him?
“And he obviously knows coming to Celtic, and he knows how I work and hopefully we can maximise his talent.”
So far so good for Iheanacho in Celtic colours with two goal-contributions in his first two games. The Super Eagles forward was a key figure under Rodgers at the King Power Stadium and it seems like history is about to repeat itself once more, but this time, at Celtic Park.
