Super Falcons forward Rinsola Babajide finally got off the mark for Roma on Sunday, netting her first goal for the club in a commanding 3-0 triumph over Sassuolo in the Serie A Women’s Cup, Footynaija.com reports.
The winger opened the scoring in the 21st minute, finishing off Roma’s early dominance with a well-taken strike.
Giada Greggi added a second just before the interval, giving the Giallorosse a firm grip on proceedings.
Late substitute Alayah Pilgrim wrapped up the win with an 88th-minute effort, confirming Roma’s spotless group-stage record: three wins from three matches, nine points, and first place in Group C. The victory also secured their place in the semi-finals of the new competition alongside Lazio, Inter Milan, and the best runner-up.
Babajide could not hide her delight after finally breaking her duck for the Italian champions, writing on X:
“Proud moment to score my first goal for AS Roma Femminile and through to the Semi Finals. Thank you Lord for the victory.”

Despite the impressive display, Roma’s focus now turns to Europe. They trail Sporting 2-1 from the first leg of their UEFA Women’s Champions League qualifier and face a decisive return match.
Head coach Luca Rossettini struck an optimistic tone, saying:
“The girls believe in it. The look on their faces the day after the match was right, it was what I wanted to see. And today (Sunday) I feel like there’s already been a positive reaction.”
Babajide was one of the key players that powered Nigeria to a 10th WAFCON title earlier this year.
