Ademola Lookman is ready to patch things up in Bergamo after his bid to force a move from Atalanta to Inter Milan collapsed, Footynaija.com reports.

The 27-year-old skipped training for weeks in an attempt to push through the transfer, but negotiations broke down before deadline day. Atalanta, who initially appeared open to talks, refused to sanction the deal and are now set to reintegrate Lookman into first-team plans.

Lookman, who has 29 caps and eight goals for Nigeria, is expected back in training this week after international duty against South Africa.

Local reports suggest he has assured Atalanta he will play when selected, despite tensions with club executives who want him to sign a new contract extension with a big release clause.

It marks a dramatic climbdown for the forward, who only last year fired Atalanta to Europa League glory and last season, netted 20 goals in 38 appearances. His strike rate made him one of Serie A’s standout performers, but his summer moves threatened to sour relations with fans and teammates.

The London-born attacker is tied to the club until June 2027, leaving him with little choice but to get back to work. Lookman could make his return when Atalanta travel to Torino on September 21.
