Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare has revealed that it didn’t take much to convince him to make the switch from Belgian Pro League giants KRC Genk to Wolverhampton Wanderers, Footynaija.com reports.

Arokodare arrives in the Premier League with the reputation of a prolific goalscorer courtesy of his exploits in the Belgian top flight where he poached 41 goals in 113 appearances across all competitions for Genk.

To acquire the services of the Nigerian striker, Wolves parted ways with £22.4 million to make him the most expensive outgoing player in Genk’s history.

Speaking during his first interview as a Wolves player, Arokodare, who could barely hide his delight, revealed that he didn’t need much convincing to make the jump from Belgium to England.

“It feels amazing to be here, It did take a while, but I’m here finally and I’m happy to be here,” he told the club’s media. “I didn’t need convincing, I didn’t speak to anyone when I wanted to come here.

“I know the history of the club, and the players that have been here and how they’ve progressed to becoming better players and I like the project of the club and that’s what I want for myself. To improve myself and help this team.

“I think I’ll fit in pretty good because if you look at the strikers that we have now, we’re almost like the same profile. So, I think it won’t be difficult for me to adapt, and it’s a team that likes to play with their strikers, and we can see how good Lars [Jorge Strand Larsen] ended last season, so I’m just here to complement that and then help the team.”

Before Arokodare can begin to make any contributions at the Molineux, the towering striker first has to link up with the Super Eagles squad as Eric Chelle’s side prepare to take on Rwanda and South Africa in the coming days.
