Ademola Lookman’s future at Atalanta remains clouded in uncertainty, with coach Ivan Jurić admitting he has no clarity on whether the Nigerian forward will stay at the club beyond the summer transfer window, Footynaija.com reports.

The Super Eagles star has been pushing for a move after Atalanta rejected interest from Inter Milan and set a firm €50 million asking price. His decision to train away from the first team has further strained relations, with reports suggesting he could even be sidelined for the remainder of the season if no deal is reached.

Speaking after Atalanta’s 1-1 draw against Pisa on the opening weekend of Serie A, Jurić addressed the speculation.

“I think that could still get some more moves done before the transfer deadline. I do not know anything about Lookman; it is difficult to hazard a guess on what will happen or if he will remain,” Jurić said, as reported by Pulse Sports.

Atalanta’s clash with Pisa revealed what they are missing without the Nigerian. Gianluca Scamacca salvaged a point in the second half after Isak Hien’s own goal had gifted the visitors the lead, but the side lacked the spark and direct attacking threat Lookman usually provides.

The 27-year-old forward enjoyed a standout 2024–25 season, finishing with 20 goals and assists across all competitions and establishing himself as one of the most effective wide attackers in Italy. His form also carried onto the international stage, where he played a central role in Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations campaign.

Interest remains high, with Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal both linked in recent days, while Inter’s rejected bid highlighted the challenge of meeting Atalanta’s valuation.

Time is running out before the transfer window closes, and with Lookman currently out of the squad, his situation looks set to dominate the headlines until a resolution is found.
