Former Fenerbahçe star Emmanuel Emenike has hailed the arrival of Victor Osimhen and Paul Onuachu to the Turkish Super Lig, describing their moves as a major boost for the competition, Footynaija.com reports.
Both Nigerian strikers are returning to familiar territory after highly successful loan spells in Turkey.
Osimhen, who spent last season at Galatasaray from Napoli, delivered a remarkable 45 goal+assist haul across all competitions, firing the club to a league and cup double.
His impact was so decisive that Galatasaray moved aggressively to secure his services permanently, paying a record €75m fee to bring him back on a four-year deal.

Emenike, who remains the second-highest scoring Nigerian in Fenerbahçe’s history, believes Osimhen’s return will elevate the standard of football in Turkey.
“Victor Osimhen is a fantastic player. His energy is very high. His joining a Turkish team will be a huge contribution to the league. I wish him the best at Galatasaray,” Emenike told Maçkolik as per Habersarikirmizi.
Onuachu’s story is no less compelling. The towering forward topped Trabzonspor’s scoring charts in the 2023-24 campaign while on loan from Southampton. Despite the club’s attempts to sign him permanently last summer, the English side refused to release him. This year, however, Trabzonspor finally landed their man.

Emenike is optimistic about Onuachu’s prospects in the Black Sea city.
“Paul Onuachu is also a great player. I watched a few of his matches. He is a good footballer, but I didn’t follow his matches very closely. However, in the few matches I watched, I saw that he is a good striker, and I like him,” he said.
Emenike’s words carry weight in Turkish football. He scored 25 goals in Fenerbahçe colours, with only Austin ‘Jay-Jay’ Okocha (33 goals) surpassing him among Nigerian players in the club’s history.
