The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed the appointments of Manu Garba and Moses Aduku as head coaches of the national U17 and U20 women’s teams, respectively, Footynaija.com reports.

Garba, one of Nigeria’s most decorated youth coaches, makes a third return to the Golden Eaglets, a side he famously led to FIFA U17 World Cup glory in 2013.

His latest appointment was ratified by the NFF Executive Committee following a recommendation from the federation’s Technical and Development Sub-Committee.

Widely regarded as a mentor of emerging stars, Garba also masterminded Nigeria’s U20 Africa Cup of Nations triumph in 2015 and guided the Eaglets to the U17 World Cup in Brazil in 2019.

His new task will see him oversee Nigeria’s campaign at the upcoming WAFU B U17 Championship, which the country will host in September.

The Golden Eaglets failed to qualify for the World Cup and AFCON over the past calender year but impressed at the 2025 National Sports Festival.

Meanwhile, Moses Aduku steps into the role of Falconets’ head coach, replacing Chris Danjuma after Nigeria’s campaign at the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.

Aduku brings a wealth of experience from the domestic women’s league, having previously managed Bayelsa Queens and currently leading Edo Queens, who were dethroned as NWSL champions in May.

He also served as an assistant coach with the Falconets during their 2022 quarter-final run in Costa Rica.

Both Garba and Aduku are expected to begin work this weekend as preparations intensify for the Falconets’ 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Rwanda and the Eaglets’ title push at the regional WAFU event.
