Super Falcons head coach Justin Madugu reiterated Nigeria’s commitment to accomplishing Mission X after booking their place in the final of the ongoing Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, Footynaija.com reports.

Madugu’s Falcons came into this year’s tournament with the singular purpose of winning a tenth continental crown and now just one game separates them from glory after impressive performances to navigate the group stage and knockout rounds.

Tournament hosts, Morocco, who have arguably been the best team in the competition presents Nigeria’s last hurdle. However, Madugu remains undeterred, insisting Super Falcons are fully focused on clinching their tenth crown in Rabat.

“We thank God for making it to the final. I want to assure you that we are not going to relent or take our eyes off the ball. Our focus is on lifting the trophy in Rabat on Saturday,” Madugu said in quotes revealed by NFF.com.

“We knew South Africa, as Cup holders, would be difficult but we were ready for them. I am glad that our tactics paid off.

“As I said before the tournament, we will always assess the opposition first and then determine what tactics would suit us better and serve our purpose. We have done these in our previous five games and we will do the same in the final.”

Having played the entirety of their WAFCON fixtures so far at the Stade Larbi Zaouli in Casablanca, the Super Falcons will get their first run out at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat when they clash with the Atlas Lionesses on Saturday, 26th July.

It promises to be an enthralling encounter in Rabat as we expect Madugu’s Super Falcons to go all out in search of that record-extending tenth continental triumph.
