Versatile Super Eagles forward Nathan Tella has revealed two crucial factors that his club Bayer Leverkusen will need to achieve success, going into next season under the tutelage of new manager Erik ten Hag, Footynaija.com reports.
Tella was part of a Xabi Alonso led Bayer Leverkusen squad that enjoyed unprecedented domestic success in the 23/24 season after clinching the Bundesliga crown as well as the DFB Pokal without suffering a single defeat throughout the entire campaign.
However, Die Werkself have since entered a new dispensation with former Manchester United manager Ten Hag now at the helm of affairs while Alonso has crossed over to the Spanish capital to take over at Real Madrid.

One competition where Tella and his Leverkusen teammates will look to impress under their new manager is the UEFA Champions League, having only gone as far as the round of 16 last season.
Looking ahead into next season, the Super Eagles forward believes that with “confidence” and “consistency,” Die Werkself can perform much better on the continent and ultimately achieve success.

“I believe we understand what it takes to reach the top eight and avoid the early knockout rounds,” Tella said in an interview with Flashscore. “We know how we need to play, and the level of focus and determination required in every game.
“Moving forward, it’s about maintaining maturity in our performances and adopting a killer mentality, being sharp in front of the goal while also preventing the opposition from scoring. Ultimately, it’s about playing with confidence and consistency to achieve success.”

Tella’s new boss Erik ten Hag will be hoping to enjoy better fortunes than he did at Manchester United in Leverkusen. The Dutchman does know how to deliver trophies so Die Werkself fans can absolutely look forward to that.
