Nigerian professional footballer currently on the books of Spanish La Liga’s Sevilla, Akor Jerome Adams, has opened up about his dream of one day donning the prestigious colours of the Super Eagles, Footynaija.com reports.
Adams sealed a huge transfer to Sevilla earlier this year after putting up decent numbers during his one-and-a-half year stint in the French Ligue 1 with Montpellier. However, his arrival in Seville was followed by an injury setback that limited him to just four appearances for the club.
On the international scene, Adams has represented Nigeria at youth level but is yet to make a senior appearance for the Super Eagles. He managed two appearances at the 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup in Polandas where Nigeria fell short in the Round of 16 against fellow West Africans Senegal.

In a recent interview with Slum2Stardom, the 25-year-old made no secret of his desire to take the next step in his international career and earn that first senior cap, emphasizing that there would be “no greater honour.”
What Akor Adams said
“I think there’s rarely a Nigerian kid who plays football that does not dream of wearing the shirt. Where I come from, playing in the national team, there is no bigger honour than that,” Adams said.
“I am honoured to play for Sevilla with all my heart but representing your country that your parents are from, and that you are from, that you have roots and connections and friends is like an army man taking up everything to go for peacekeeping for the country. It’s the same as representing Nigeria, there is no greater honour for me.”
With the likes of Victor Osimhen, Tolu Arokodare, Umar Sadiq, Cyriel Dessers, Victor Boniface and Paul Onuachu all on the roster of striking options available to Eric Chelle, Akor Adams will need to massively step up his game if he is to break into the current Super Eagles setup.
