Nigerian teenage striker Chinedu Umeh has officially signed for Finnish top-flight side Seinäjoen Jalkapallokerho (SJK), after an exciting spell in Lagos, Footynaija.com reports.

The 19-year-old, who hails from Lekki, was unveiled by SJK after completing his move from Atlantic Business FC, a well-known private club in Nigeria’s youth football scene.

Umeh arrives in Finland with numbers that do all the talking. Across two full seasons with Atlantic Business FC, a rising side based in Lekki, the teenager bagged 65 goals in 120 matches, covering league action, youth tournaments, and private competitions like the Creative Championship.

That record, spread across the National League One and Nigerian Youth League, marked him out as a natural finisher with serious intent.

According to SJK’s official statement, Umeh’s journey with the club began through their development arm, SJK Akatemia, where he featured in both Finland’s First and Second Divisions. And already, the early signs are promising.

He’s been described by the club as a fast, relentless striker who presses high, plays smart, and brings the kind of drive you cannot teach. Despite his age, SJK say he carries himself with the maturity of someone who knows where he is going.

“This is a good club. The team and coaching are great, and everyone works hard both on and off the field, and we have improved all the time. I am really happy with how things are going here, and I am ready to give my all here,” Umeh told the club in his first official interview.

The striker, who is right-footed and thrives down the middle, is now getting used to European football; cold weather, sharp tempo, and all. But the bigger picture is that Umeh is aiming high.

Pulse Sports recently highlighted Umeh as one to watch, noting that his goal record in local competitions, combined with his attitude and work ethic, makes him a genuine long-term option for the Super Eagles.

He might still be young, but he’s showing signs of someone built for the big stage.

Born in 2006, Umeh now joins a growing list of Nigerian talents using Finland as a springboard into Europe’s football ladder.
