Super Eagles star Moses Simon has been shortlisted for the 2024/25 Ligue 1 Goal of the Season award, capping off what has been a remarkable individual campaign for the Nantes winger, Footynaija.com reports.
The 29-year-old Nigerian international is enjoying his most productive season since arriving in France, with seven goals and nine assists in 30 league appearances — surpassing the numbers he posted in his debut year with the Yellow Canaries.

The other nominees include Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche, whose overhead kick against Rennes wowed spectators in January; Marseille’s Amine Gouiri, also recognised for an acrobatic finish in a 4-1 win over Brest; Angers’ Esteban Lepaul, with a precise volley against PSG; and Strasbourg midfielder Andrey Santos, who unleashed a thunderous long-range shot against Toulouse.
While Simon continues to shine individually, his club Nantes remain embroiled in a relegation battle, sitting just one point above the drop zone.
With one year left on his contract and interest mounting from clubs in England and Turkey, Simon may be approaching the end of his time in Ligue 1.
Reports suggest Premier League side Everton have sent scouts to monitor the Nigerian’s situation, while Turkish giants are also said to be preparing a summer bid.
