South African side Stellenbosch FC have confirmed the signing of Nigerian midfielder Lateef Adeyanju Kazeem from Plateau United ahead of their Betway Premiership clash against Kaizer Chiefs, Footynaija.com reports.
The 20-year-old joins the South African club on a free transfer after completing his move from the Nigeria Professional Football League side, with Stellenbosch confirming his arrival in a recent press release.
“Stellenbosch Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Nigerian midfielder Lateef Adeyanju Kazeem on a free transfer,” the club announced, per The South African.
“Having concluded all formalities last month, Stellenbosch FC has bolstered its ranks with the acquisition of Lateef Adeyanju Kazeem, who most recently plied his trade in the Nigerian PFL with Plateau United.”

Born in Saki, Nigeria, Kazeem is a left-footed attacking midfielder who operates primarily as a number 10 but can also feature in wide positions.
The youngster will wear the number 29 shirt at Stellenbosch, where he will look to make his mark as he takes the next step in his career outside Nigerian football. His arrival adds another option to Gavin Hunt’s squad as the club look to build consistency in the early stages of the 26/27 campaign.
Stellenbosch have collected nine points from their opening seven league matches, recording two wins, three draws and two defeats. Their latest outing before the international break ended in a 1-0 away victory over Kruger United, giving them a boost ahead of their return to action.
Kazeem could make his debut when Stellenbosch face Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium on Tuesday, offering the Nigerian an early opportunity to introduce himself to South African football.
The youngster’s immediate challenge will be adapting to his new surroundings and earning his place in the team. If selected against Chiefs, Kazeem could begin his South African adventure with a high-profile test.
