Nigerian midfielder Adeshina Adetunji says he is ready for the next chapter of his career after completing a season-long loan move to Croatian top-flight side NK Slaven Belupo from Austrian club LASK Linz, Footynaija.com reports.
The move offers the highly rated youngster the chance to gain regular first-team football as he continues his development in Europe. Having progressed through the ranks at LASK, Adetunji heads to Croatia hoping to build valuable experience and establish himself at senior level.
Slaven Belupo see the versatile midfielder as a player capable of adding energy and creativity to their squad during the 2026/27 season, while Adetunji views the switch as another important step in his journey towards reaching his full potential.
Speaking to the club after the deal was confirmed, the Nigerian midfielder made it clear that his focus is on growth rather than comfort.
“This is an important step in my career. I’m grateful for the opportunity and determined to keep improving while helping the team achieve its objectives,” Adetunji said.
The youngster also acknowledged the challenges that come with adapting to a new league but insisted he is ready to earn his place through hard work.
“Every new challenge helps you grow. My focus is to work hard every day, earn my place in the team and make the most of this opportunity,” he added.
Adetunji joined LASK from Nigerian side Galadima FC and has continued to develop steadily in Austria. His loan spell in Croatia now presents another opportunity to test himself in a competitive environment while taking another step towards his long-term ambition of representing Nigeria at the highest level.
