Nigerian winger Moses Usor produced the finest season of his career as LASK completed one of the greatest stories in Austrian football by winning the 2025/26 Bundesliga title and ending a 61-year wait for league glory, Footynaija reports.

The Linz-based side sealed the championship on Sunday with an impressive 3-0 victory over Austria Wien at the Generali Arena in Vienna, sparking emotional celebrations among supporters who had waited since 1965 to see their club crowned champions again.

LASK’s success did not come by luck. They finished the campaign ahead of Austrian powerhouses Red Bull Salzburg and Sturm Graz, two clubs that have dominated the league in recent years. Their title triumph also completed a memorable domestic double after they defeated SCR Altach 4-2 after extra time in the Austrian Cup final earlier this month.

Usor played a central role throughout the historic campaign. The 24-year-old contributed 15 goals and 10 assists in all competitions, including 13 league goals during a season that established him as one of the most dangerous attacking players in Austria.

Although he did not score in the decisive win over Austria Wien, his pace, pressing and movement repeatedly unsettled the home defence. His energy on and off the ball became one of the defining features of LASK’s title-winning side.

Several moments during the season defined Usor’s importance. He scored a crucial equaliser in the Austrian Cup final after LASK had fallen behind early, helping his team regain control before eventually lifting the trophy. He also delivered important goals against Sturm Graz and TSV Hartberg during the tense closing weeks of the title race.

One of the defining turning points came in May when LASK defeated Salzburg 2-1 at the Raiffeisen Arena after already earning a dramatic 3-2 away win against the same opponents earlier in the Championship Round.

The league triumph also guarantees LASK a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League, giving Usor the opportunity to test himself at the highest level in European football. After helping to deliver one of the biggest achievements in the club’s history, the Nigerian forward now looks ready for an even bigger stage.
