Czech champions SK Slavia Prague are refusing to back down in the growing transfer battle surrounding Nigerian striker Muhamed Tijani, Footynaija reports.

This comes after several clubs have already been turned away as the Prague side insist on a much bigger fee for the 25-year-old.

Hungarian clubs Ferencvárosi TC and Debreceni VSC are among the teams pushing to sign the former Flying Eagles forward ahead of the 2026-27 season. Debrecen are understood to have made direct approaches, but talks failed to progress after Slavia placed a valuation far beyond what the Hungarian side were prepared to pay.

At the end of the season, Muhammad Tijani will be going back to his parent club, Slavia Prague. However, there are serious indication that clubs in Hungary are willing to break bank for him.

Reports in Czechia also linked Újpest FC with the striker, although sources close to Slavia say no formal contact has been made by the club.

The Czech champions are believed to be demanding around €1m for Tijani, despite his lower market valuation. Slavia’s position is strengthened by the fact that the striker remains under contract until June 2028, leaving the club under no pressure to sell.

Club officials also believe Tijani’s combination of height, power and mobility still gives him significant long-term value. Standing at 1.91 metres, the Nigerian has rebuilt his reputation in Hungary after an injury-hit spell in England with Plymouth Argyle.

That loan move to Plymouth in 2024 was interrupted by a serious hamstring injury suffered in October of that year, limiting his impact in the Championship.

Since returning to Central Europe, however, Tijani has rediscovered form. After a loan spell with SK Sigma Olomouc, he joined Nyíregyháza Spartacus FC in January 2026 and quickly impressed, scoring eight goals within months.

Nyíregyháza sporting director Fekete Tivadar confirmed that several clubs have already tried to sign the Nigerian, but Slavia rejected every approach. He also revealed that the player feels settled in Hungary, even as discussions continue behind the scenes over his next move.

Tijani first rose to prominence with Nigerian academy side 36 Lion FC before moving to Europe in 2018. He later represented Nigeria at the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup, scoring against the United States, and Slavia now appear determined to ensure that any club wanting his signature must pay full price.
