Super Eagles striker Akor Adams has expressed disappointment following Sevilla’s narrow 1-0 defeat to Real Oviedo at the Estadio Municipal Carlos Tartiere on Sunday, Footynaija.com reports.
Adams, who featured for the full 90 minutes duration of the encounter, couldn’t do much to help Sevilla as the Andalusian outfit slumped to a third straight defeat in La Liga, leaving them dangerously close to the relegation zone.
Sevilla initially began the game with great intent and created early chances through Adams as well as a few set-piece situations.

However, with Oviedo’s 30th minute opener, through Fede Venar, and Tanguay Ndombele’s sending-off for Sevilla occuring within eight minutes of each other, the game ultimately became too difficult for Luis Garcia’s side to recover.
Reacting after the game, Adams was clearly frustrated with not just the result, but also with the way the entire game played out.

“The result was a shame. It wasn’t what we had prepared with the new manager, and we have to reset and forget this result as soon as possible,” the Nigerian striker said in quotes revealed by Elsevillistas.
“We didn’t lose because of the referees, but we had several incidents that went against us. For example, Djibril Sow nearly broke his leg.”

Sevilla, who currently sit 17th in La Liga and are just two points clear of relegation waters, now face an increasing possibility of dropping out of the Spanish top flight by the end of this season.
Adams and co will be looking to halt their poor run of five games without a win (three defeats, two draws) when they come up against Atletico Madrid in their next La Liga outing.
