Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi has sent a strong warning to his Hull City teammates ahead of their crucial EFL Championship clash against Sheffield Wednesday this weekend, Footynaija.com reports.
Hull City slumped to a disappointing defeat in their last Championship outing, losing 3-0 to Ajayi’s former employers West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns. Perhaps, even more disappointing was their display in that particular encounter as it was nothing to write home about.
The Tigers are now seeking to return to winning ways as they prepare to host Sheffield Wednesday at The MKM Stadium on Saturday and Ajayi is aware that they will need to be at the top of their game to avoid another slip up in the chase for a promotion play-off spot.

“One hundred per cent, there are no easy games in the Champ,” the Nigerian international told Hull Live. “We’ve got to be on it. We can’t drop our levels just because of where they are in the table, because if you do that in this league, you’ll get punished.
“We have to be at the top of our game. We’ll make sure we are. I’m expecting a tough game from them. We’ll be on it, and we’ll be ready, we’ll be ready for what they have to bring.
“We’re just taking it one game at a time. Our full focus is on Sheffield Wednesday and making sure we put things right and be at our maximum come Saturday.”

Ajayi and Hull City will back themselves to overcome Wednesday on Saturday given the difference in their various positions in the Championship. The Tigers currently occupy fifth place, while Sheffield Wednesday are rooted to the bottom of standings and set for relegation to League One.
