Belgian Pro League outfit Club Brugge are reportedly planning a potential summer move for newly invited Super Eagles defender Emmanuel Fernandez following his impressive rise at Rangers, Footynaija.com reports.
Club Brugge are understood to have been convinced of the centre-back’s qualities after closely monitoring him this season, with his performances leaving a strong impression during scouting assignments.
According to reports from Belgian news outlet Voetbalprimeur, Brugge are now weighing up a move as they look to strengthen their defensive options ahead of next season.

Fernandez’s development over the past year has been quite impressive. After initially struggling for regular minutes following his arrival from Peterborough United last summer, the 24-year-old has worked his way into the starting lineup and established himself as a key figure at Ibrox.
So far, he has scored six goals this season, underlining his threat in attacking situations, while also contributing to a number of clean sheets. His consistent displays were further recognised with a Player of the Month award earlier in the year.
Rangers are, however, in a strong position regarding his future. Fernandez remains under contract until 2029, and the Scottish club are not keen on losing one of their emerging talents. Any potential deal is expected to require a fee in excess of €9 million.

Fernandez’s growing reputation has also gained attention on the international scene with Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle recently handing the defender his first senior call-up to the Nigeria national team ahead of the March international break.
Interest in Manny Fernandez is not limited to Belgium alone, with clubs from other European leagues also monitoring his situation closely. As the summer window approaches, it’ll be interesting to see how things develop.
