Alex Iwobi has arrived early in the Super Eagles’ training camp in Antalya, offering a timely boost as Nigeria begin preparations for upcoming friendly matches against Iran and Jordan, Footynaija reports.
The Super Eagles midfielder is among the first players to report to camp, showing his importance and commitment at a crucial point for the national side. Several teammates have since joined him at their base, as preparations gather pace ahead of the fixtures later this month.

Iwobi’s arrival comes at a time when Nigeria are looking to rebuild momentum following recent disappointments on the international stage. The 28-year-old remains one of the team’s most experienced figures, having featured at major tournaments and consistently provided creativity in midfield. His steady form at club level with Fulham has further strengthened his role as a key influence for the national team.
Off the pitch, attention had briefly shifted to troubling reports suggesting the midfielder had been the victim of a violent burglary at his London home. However, those claims have now been firmly dismissed.
His father, Chuka Iwobi, moved quickly to set the record straight, saying: “Alex is fine and there was absolutely no attempt to burgle his house. He left for Turkey this morning in preparation for the friendlies. It’s so annoying that a person can actually spread such falsehood just for a few clicks. I’ve been inundated by calls and enquiries from well wishers and have spent unnecessary time explaining that this is a made up story.”

With the rumours put to rest, focus has now returned fully to football, as Nigeria prepare for two important tests in Antalya.
The Super Eagles face Iran on March 27 before trading tackles with Jordan four days later.
