Super Eagles striker Umar Sadiq has called on his Valencia teammates to quickly put the disappointment of their La Liga defeat to Real Madrid behind them and focus on returning stronger, Footynaija.com reports.
Sadiq featured as a late substitute on Sunday as Valencia fell to a 2-0 defeat at the Estadio de Mestalla, with goals from Alvaro Carreras and Kylian Mbappe condemning Los Che to a third consecutive defeat across all competitions.
Despite his limited involvement and the disappointing result, the Nigeria international maintained a positive outlook after the game, stressing the importance of resilience and mentality in difficult moments.

“Football is about waking up and going again. We got knocked, but now it’s a perfect time for us to come back,” the Super Eagles forward told Sporty TV.
“It’s a game like this against big rivals. Playing against Real Madrid is always special and difficult because they’re a big team.
“The right moment is when you get onto the pitch and do what you’re meant to do against them. That’s the most important.”

Valencia’s defeat leaves them 17th on the La Liga standings, hovering dangerously close to the relegation zone, with just one point separating them from 18th-placed Rayo Vallecano, who also have a game in hand.
With pressure mounting and results desperately needed, Los Che will now turn their attention to a crucial league clash against fellow strugglers Levante, a fixture that presents a timely opportunity for Sadiq and his teammates to steady the ship and pick up much-needed points in their fight for survival.
